Stefan and Marilyn

Conference in Palm Springs this year so of course you knew I would fly into LA.  Miss my hometown so much.  Traffic is worse...if that could have happened but it did.

Night one:  LA with my LA parents (Summer's parents).  Momma Kirbis stabbed me!  Ok, she corned me and gave me a flu shot.  Ok, Dr. Kirbis told me to get my ass into the kitchen as she got the flu shot ready for me, grabbed a fist full of arm and stabbed me.  She might be under 5 ft tall and 100lbs wet...but she is scary!  It was a nice night to hang with my family in LA.

Night Two:  Palm Springs.  AWESOME!  I had the ITAM guys hanging out with me all night long.  Its funny how they all remember me from the last few years.  Here I am, thinking I am a barfly but everyone knows me and wants to hang out.  I am still confused how this happened.  One of the guys kept me company all night long, even walked my drunk ass back to my room.  Nice guy.

Night Three:  Recovering from Tuesday night!

Night Four:  Back to LA and to Kata's house.  Man her baby is adorable!  Lena and I played and I taught her how to growl like a monster!  Kata wasn't amused!  There is nothing more adorable than a 18 month old growling!  Later on...not sure how I became the middle man between Kata and her husband.  For the record, I do NOT like being the middle man.  Argue on your own time about how many cigarettes Kata is allowed to smoke!  DAMN!  I also saw the "extension" they put on the house!  MY GOD!  Added 30ft to the house and put on a kick ass master upstairs.  Their walk-in closet is 15ft by 20ft.  Their microwave opens from both side of the door.  Just too cool!  The extension doubled the price of their house!  I am in love with it!  Ok, I am in love with little Lena too!

Day five:  Picked up Bryan and went to Stefan's grave.  I never would have found it without him!  One of the oldest cemeteries in LA and buildings on Wilshire were built around it!  While waiting to be shown where he was (we could have found it in 2 minutes because it's tiny!), I had to step out a few times because I started to cry.  Thank God for Bryan (Stef's best friend).  He took me to the sight, we both cried, told stories about Stefan...cried some more, held each other, cried then started to make jokes.  Stef and I were a thing for 4 years.  Lived together for 4 years before I kicked him out.  This is where common law marriage comes in since everything was in both our names and we were always one.  So yes, I call him my husband rather than my boyfriend.  He went back to LA and I was supposed to follow him in a few months afterwards.  I never went back.  Two years later he was dead.  At least I knew he was finally happy and with his dad (who died when Stef was 1 month old).  It just took 8 years to say goodbye to him.  I love you Stefan and I miss you every damn day.  I know you are still around and protecting me like you did in life.

Stefan is in damn good company!  He is in the crypt as his dad Steve.  In the same row as Marilyn Monroe. He is there with Dean Martin, Rodney Dangerfield, etc.  Bryan and I walked around the little cemetery after visiting Stefan.  I just needed to lighten the weight which was on my heart.  Rodney Dangerfield might have put "there goes the neighborhood" on his tombstone...but that happened when they put Stefan there.  Here is to you Stef.  Miss you each day!  July 27th, 2004 we lost you forever.

Night Five:  Goodbye LA and California!  Until the next time!  And Stefan...keep partying with the celebrities.
