something strange with B

So stephanie stopped by to say that she talked to HR about B.  Well, her and Jason.  She told me that she needed to keep me out of it because more info could get me in trouble and she was trying to help me out. Is this about her always telling me there were attendance issues in the past?  when I talked to his last boss, D, he didn't say anything bad about him.  B did tell me at one point that he wanted to get out of that other group because of SOX and he couldn't have any personal time.  Makes sense.  So now this.  What the hell is going on?  Just something doesn't feel right with me.
